The residence explores how an additional room can exist without becoming a visual barrier within the main living space. Rather than treating the +1 room as a conventional enclosed box, its boundaries are carefully articulated to reduce the sense of separation and physical weight. Openings, material transitions and visual connections allow the room to remain perceptually connected to the surrounding space, preserving a greater sense of depth and continuity across the interior.
The surrounding volumes are kept restrained so that necessary functions can be accommodated without further fragmenting the space. Light surfaces and controlled material transitions soften the presence of larger architectural elements, while changes in transparency and depth allow boundaries to remain legible without becoming visually dominant. The result is an interior where enclosure does not necessarily mean isolation, allowing the additional room to function independently while remaining part of a larger and more continuous spatial composition.
